On a dive watch, the bezel rotates and can be set to mark the time when the dive began. Tracking the minute hand from that position will inform the diver as to how long they have been under and the time remaining before they need to return to the surface.The bezel and its water resistance are not the only defining features of the dive watch. A good scuba divers watch will also have a dial or face that contrasts well with the timepieces markings. It is of great importance to read easily the information the watch presents.  Information should be clearly distinguishable at a range of 25 cm in pitch-black conditions. The timepiece should also give some indication that it is functioning; a luminous second hand.
